WHAT IS IN THE AFTERMATH

by Mary Jane O. Velasquez

“Be still and know that I am with you.” Psalm 46:10

With the start of this month, our country faced the wrath of four tropical cyclones, in which two were typhoons that created scars in the heavily-affected regions. One was Super Typhoon Rolly that devastatingly hit the Bicol Region on November 1and another was Typhoon Ulysses, which brought heavy rains for almost a day on November 11 to 12, causing floods of unimaginable degree to different parts of Luzon.

Before the said typhoons made their landfall, their strong winds and heavy rains were already felt in the areas that were mostly prone to be in their pathway. Families and people were already displaced from their houses, rushed to evacuation centers or stuck on the 2nd floor or roofs of their houses. There were areas that were prone to flood even with a few minutes of rain but with strong intensity. Due to the saturation of the land mass with water from a total of six tropical cyclones in three weeks, the flood intensified, especially in low areas of Bicol Region, CALABARZON, and Central and Northern Luzon. Typhoon Ulysses brought non-stop rains for 12 to 14 hours, making the floods worse, and eventually reaching critical rise of water level to reprops and dams, in which the Magat Dam was opened and caused the submerged state of Cagayan, Isabela and Tuguegarao.

Taking note of the floods of different depths, it was an alarming state that some areas had floods that were knee-deep, neck-deep, and too deep, which in the average height of humans were impossible to reach. These floods had characteristics of being murky, muddy, dirty, and brought natural to synthetic debris to houses that were affected. While the said characteristics were seen by our eyes, other factors brought by floods posed a threat to our health. Floods that took a while to dry may end up being the nesting areas of mosquitoes, which can cause dengue cases to rise. Another one is that, the urine of rodents, dogs, and farm animals have bacteria called Leptospira interrogans, which causes the leptospirosis infection. This scenario is a serious threat to public health in which the Department of Health is focused on. They released an article on their website entitled “DOH WARNS AGAINST POSSIBLE OUTBREAK OF W.I.L.D. DISEASE FOLLOWING CONSECUTIVE TYPHOONS” last November 19. The lead of the article says, “The Department of Health (DOH) is on heightened surveillance and warned the public against possible outbreak of waterborne and foodborne illnesses, influenza-like illnesses, leptospirosis and dengue (W.I.L.D.) diseases following the aftermath of recent typhoons that struck the country. DOH also reiterated its call on the precautionary measures against spread of COVID-19 among the displaced population.”

According to World Health Organization, Dengue is an illness transmitted from an Aedes species mosquito bite that is infected with any of the four dengue viruses. A person with dengue shows signs after 3 to 14 days of the transmission, which are: mild to high fever, severe headache, rash, pain behind the eyes, and muscle and joint pain. Severe dengue shows serious complications like plasma leakage, organ failure, many hemorrhages which are lethal. It can infect infants, young children and adults.

According to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection originating from the urine of infected animals which can be: cattle, horses, pigs, dogs, wild animals and rodents that enters through the mucous membrane (eyes, mouth and nose) or through skin that has a cut or scratch. A person infected by Leptospirosis shows signs from 2 days to 4 weeks of contact with contaminated water, and can have symptoms of: headache, rash, muscle aches, red eyes, high fever, chills, jaundice, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea. It occurs in two stages: the first stage is being ill again after recovery from the symptoms of fever, muscle aches, diarrhea or vomiting and chills, and the second stage shows severe symptoms of kidney or liver failure or meningitis. It can last for days to months without treatment.

The said illnesses belong to a group of diseases called infection.

Dr. Renato Paragas, the WATERDOK of the Philippines and author of three health books entitled “The #1 Reason Why You’re Sick”, “The #1 Reason Why You’re Diabetic”, and “The #1 Reason Why You’re Hypertensive” mentioned in his article entitled “Prevention Is Better Than Cure” that “Magnesium is nothing short of a miracle mineral in its healing effect on a wide range of diseases, as well as in its ability to rejuvenate the aging body. Many are also not aware that magnesium, in the form of magnesium chloride, is an impressive infection fighter.” He further provided another evidence of how Magnesium is a miracle mineral from Dr. Charles Norman Shealy, author of “Holy Water, Sacred Oil”. He elaborated, “When used correctly, magnesium is the best weapon we have to defend the body, not only from infectious diseases of both viral and bacterial origin but also from the chemical deluge of toxic chemicals that are invading our bodies every day. We have a heavyweight, non-toxic medicine we can use without a prescription.” All of the infections stated above can be prevented with the right knowledge on how to take care of your body naturally.

IONIQUE® Mineral Drops contains 72 macro and trace minerals, with Magnesium having the highest percentage, that our cells need in order to function best and provide the necessary supplement to boost our immune system. It is also the minerals that we have to supply in our systems in order to reach the true meaning of “wholesome health”. Therefore, W.I.L.D. can be prevented when IONIQUE® Mineral Drops is taken with your proper hydration which is calculated as 50 ml per kg body weight per day. The recommended dose is 20 drops 4 times a day.

With these alarming viruses and parasites infecting millions of lives, there is one lesson that we should always remember: strengthening our immune system.

Dr. Paragas also emphasized the use of IONIQUE® Mineral Drops to strengthen our immune system. “With the correct intake of purified drinking water supplemented with magnesium chloride (best source being IONIQUE® Mineral Drops), the immune system can be boosted remarkably and the body can have a better capability to fight against various infections and probably against SARS CoV 2 as well. Prevention is better than cure!”

In these times of crisis, we should always invest on our number one asset, which is our health. We should boost our immune system because it gives us our best state to operate 24/7. We may not see how our unique and magnificent cells work but they depend on how we help them with their physiological activities every day. If the immune system fights for us daily, then we should give them a hand and fight with them too with the fulfillment of the six essential nutrients and avoidance of the intake of toxins.

Our heart goes out to the families and persons affected by the series of tropical cyclones that hit our country. We pray for you and your recovery in all aspects. We stand with you in this journey.

“God is the only one who can make the valley of trouble a door of hope.” Hosea 2:15
