Anti-Aging Effects of Mineralized Water

“Those who drink the water that I will give them will never be thirsty again.” John 4:14

With the start of this month, I have two questions for you:

1.) Did you know that the type of water you drink can either help or harm you? And,

2.) Do you also believe that aging is not only of the skin, in which you can evidently see wrinkles on your face and saggy ones on your shoulders, but it is also existing within your cells?

To explain further, let me take you into an in-depth discussion on the importance of mineralized water in your body and its anti-aging ability.

Access to potable water is a great need for all living organisms. The adult human body is composed of at least 70% water, infant body is 90% water, and a child’s body is 80% water (Paragas, 2015) and they rely on water as the main source of hydration. However, because of the bad disposal practices of humans thriving on this planet, sources of potable water such as natural bodies of water have been contaminated by microorganisms, polluted by microplastics, heavy metals, chemicals, and other debris. This phenomenon led to the invention of water purification, distillation, and mineralization; humans opt buying purified or distilled water from a store or a water refilling station than drink directly on a stream or a natural source of water. This improved-sourced water underwent a series of purification (distillation, reverse osmosis, mechanical filtration, ozonation, or ultraviolet radiation) to eliminate water-borne microorganisms, sediments, heavy metals, and other pollutants. Unfortunately, some of these processes made the potable water in a purified state, having less to no minerals (electrolytes) such as magnesium and calcium that are biologically important in humans. This type of water when consumed on a regular, daily basis can cause various adverse effects on the body. On another hand, mineral water is sourced from springs or bore holes that are geologically and physically protected (FDA). Since every natural water source is considered contaminated, humans cannot drink it directly. Thus, the administration of minerals into a distilled or purified water is important. This makes purified water “mineralized.” Considering that humans rely on daily water intake, “mineralized” water should be taken instead of purified or distilled water to boost the cell's life, thereby giving its anti-aging effects.

Dr. Renato U. Paragas, the medical director of VER1REV Enterprise, stated in his book entitled “The #1 Reason Why You’re Sick: The Simplest Solution to Healing Yourself” (2015), that there is a difference between pure water and healthy mineralized water. The following are the excerpts from the said book:

“Medical practitioners believe that pure drinking water is the best for health, whereas any substance placed in water would result into detrimental effects. They are unaware that when beneficial minerals are removed or absent, the water is considered demineralized and acidic. Demineralized water is not ideal as human drinking water when taken for a prolonged period, especially when regularly taken, because of its acidic characteristics that are associated with several diseases. Examples of demineralized water are ion exchange resulting to soft water, distilled water, and reverse osmosis resulting to a purified water.”

“Purity means the absence of contaminants such as sediments, chemicals, microorganism, and other toxins and pollutants. Mineral nutrients are not contaminants but essential elements of the body. Drinking water should be high in total dissolved solids (TDS) of approximately 300 mg/L, has a hardness of 170 mg/L, has an alkalinity pH between 8.6 and 10.0, has an oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) between -250 and -450 mV (ORP is the balance between antioxidants and oxidants; the higher the ORP, the fewer the antioxidants present), and has a lower surface tension (for easy absorbance and assimilation in the cells).”

“When a person consumes insufficient volume of demineralized water, water cannot get to the bodily parts where it should be, and this may cause a certain degree of dehydration. Minerals are elements that help transport water inside the cell and its environment. Demineralized water will tend to drain away remaining minerals, also known as electrolytes from the cells because pure water is very aggressive and an active absorber. If the person is not adequately nourished with the essential minerals, regular intake of demineralized water will further deplete them and will aggravate the existing deficiency.”

Sang Whang, the business owner of Alkalife, stated in his book entitled “Reverse Aging: Unlocking the Effects of Alkalinity on Health and Longevity” (2012), that reverse aging can be achieved through the right alkalinity of water.

Building up of more acids in some parts of the body clogs the capillary vessels around the acidic areas, causing some organs to feel “dis-ease”. In severe conditions, too much acidic build-up can kill the healthy cells around them. Healthy cells should have a slight alkaline pH level, and some cellular activities require a change in formula to survive the acidic environment. If the healthy cells that thrive in alkaline environment are totally damaged, cancer cells emerge, meaning that the human internal systems are all acidic. The accumulation of waste products inside the body is the aging process. To make it as reverse-aging, the individual needs to remove the old waste products.

Waste disposal is in the form of urine and perspiration; therefore, it is an imperative for humans to drink more water. For all accumulated wastes are acidic, the most accepted type of water for the human body is acid-free alkaline water. Alkaline water has twice minerals than an original water, but it has no acid minerals, therefore making it more potent than the original water. Once alkaline water is ingested, it neutralizes only the acidic elements and will be safely removed out of the body.

We should be mindful of our health for we depend on it every day. To enrich the cells for them not to age or undergo disease, we must always do our part in taking great care of our health by drinking purified water with minerals and to not ingest the foods and beverages that cause harm to our bodies. This is the best way of showing love to ourselves, while keeping in mind our dreams to fulfill, and the lives that we will help with God by our side.
